I’ve taken Myers Briggs, Predictive Index, DISC or other assessments, what’s different about the ProScan?

While there are some similarities between the ProScan and other assessments, the ProScan includes information others don’t. The ProScan measures both your energy, how much natural battery power you have, and how you use your energy when facing a project or task.

Knowing those two pieces provides insight that helps you manage your energy as well as understand your approach to projects so you can perform at your best.

Perhaps my favorite part is an entire section that measures how you are showing up differently than you are naturally and the energy drains that it is causing. You can’t be at your best if you are physically, mentally, spiritually, creatively or emotionally drained.

In addition to all this, the Proscan discussed your communication and leadership style helping you understand how you interact with others. It’s another tool to have in your professional development arsenal.

No other assessment provides all this AND is statistically normed on working adults.

How much time does it take to go through the assessment?

If you spend 10 minutes taking the assessment you are way overthinking it. Most people spend 5 minutes or less. It is another reason I love the ProScan. You don’t have to set aside a huge block of time…just a few minutes. You’ll be amazed by the results and scratching your head thinking “how did they get all that about me in less than 5 minutes of my time”.

What do I get once I have taken the assessment?

Within minutes of taking the assessment you will get a report. The report is approximately 20 pages. But before you freak out let me explain the report. It has several parts explaining the data in graphical and narrative form. About half-way through begins the sections on leadership and communication style, assessing your needs and motivators and more. You don’t have to consume the entire report all at one time.

You will also receive a document outlining how to read the report and it provides insights on what the data is saying.

I’m not sure I am in the right job or career. Will the ProScan help me make a career decision?

There are numerous ways you can use the report. The list isn’t exhaustive.
Once you learn about yourself, how you function best in the work environment you can determine if the career path you are on is the right direction for you.

Understanding how you are adjusting yourself to be different than you natural are and the resulting energy drains allow you to step back and make adjustments where you can in your work or personal life, and where you can’t be aware so you can manage yourself most effectively.

As you read about your communication and leadership styles you’ll begin to get a sense of how your style affects the interactions you have with others.

Defining what motivates you and your needs will give you the opportunity to figure out what’s missing from your life and you can formulate a plan for addressing these areas.

We are our own worst critics and the more we learn and understand about ourselves the less judgment we have. Instead of trying to be the person who writes plans and checks boxes you can accept the person who is more freewheeling and only wants structure if they think it makes sense.
